Joy works as a national and international educational consultant helping school districts improve classroom effectiveness through practical and inspiring teaching methodologies. She provides insight on instructional strategies that engage all learners and help them meet learning standards and benchmarks.

Joy walks teachers, step-by-step, through practical, doable strategies that help teachers intentionally and passionately respond to learner differences as well as models risk-taking and mistake-making in her workshops. She also scaffolds critical thinking strategies and uses literature and technology to demonstrate for teachers (and learners) how to be compassionate towards differences, embrace their strengths and weaknesses and work as a community to develop both.

Joy has years of experience in middle and secondary science, math, and foreign language classrooms. Her dynamic presentations are multi-media, interactive, paced to fit the needs of the audience, and are modeled after her classroom experiences – practical, engaging, and meaningful.
